Finance Manager

Role overview

As a Finance Manager at SemiQon, you will play a central role in strengthening and developing our finance function as the company grows. You will work closely with management, accounting partners, auditors, project owners, and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective cost allocation, and reliable financial oversight across both commercial activities and publicly funded projects.

This is a hands-on role for a finance professional who combines strong practical expertise with the ability to build scalable processes and support strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities

• Own and develop the company's monthly financial reporting processes. Coordinate the preparation of financial statements together with accounting partners, auditors, and management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Support management with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and business decision-making. Ensure financial data provides clear insights that support company growth and operational excellence.
• Manage cost tracking, cost allocation, and cost center reporting across projects and business functions. Monitor project budgets, working hours, eligible costs, and financial performance.
• Prepare and coordinate financial reporting for publicly funded projects, particularly Business Finland and EU-funded initiatives. Ensure compliance with funding requirements and reporting obligations.
• Develop and oversee sales invoicing, customer billing, purchase invoice processing, expense management, and payment-related processes in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external accounting partners.
• Continuously improve internal controls, reporting practices, and finance processes to support the company's growth and international expansion. Identify opportunities for automation and increased efficiency.
• Serve as a key point of contact for auditors, accounting partners, funding authorities, and internal stakeholders on finance-related matters. Communicate financial information clearly and effectively across the organization.

Qualifications

• A degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
• Solid hands-on experience in financial management, accounting, monthly reporting, and financial statement including audit preparation.
• Strong understanding of cost allocation, project accounting, and financial tracking across projects, functions, and cost centers.
• Experience with financial reporting for publicly funded projects, particularly Business Finland and/or EU-funded projects.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence in working with financial data. Experience with ERP, accounting, invoicing, or financial reporting systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners in both Finnish and English.
• Experience managing the finances of international entities.
• A structured, proactive, and detail-oriented professional who takes ownership of finance-related processes and drives improvements independently.

• Ability to translate financial data into clear and actionable insights for management and project teams.
